State of California regulations require public school districts to annually verify the residency of pupils attending district schools (5CCR Section 432). To comply with this requirement and to verify eligibility for enrollment of a child in the San Diego Unified School District, proof of residency within the San Diego Unified School is required. Evidence of residency may include one of the following documents:
- A recent (month of or month after registration date) utility bill (SDG&E, non-cell phone, water, cable)
- Recent rental agreement, contract or mortgage statements
- Documents addressed to you from the Dept. of Social Services
District boundaries must be submitted to a child's school at the time of enrollment, and whenever there is a change of address. Please notify the school immediately if you change your residence.
